I have been very sensitive my entire life. I have especially been aware of the suffering and pain of others having grown up in a Christian church, which focused extensively on the “last days on Earth”. I have been worried about the state of the world most of my life. This anxiety was compounded by the ever-present threat of the atomic bomb of the 70s, the awareness of overpopulation, wars, and the environmental disasters of toxic waste and agricultural poisons.

After years of this anxiety, my nerves were worn out. I cried easily. I experienced chronic immobilizing depression; I had back and neck pain, bladder infections and fear of men. My body hurt most of the time. It was tight, stiff, achy and easily over-stimulated. I was perpetually knotted up in my shoulders and neck and I slumped. It seemed impossible to keep my spine in alignment. I lacked self-esteem and was constantly putting on a front to cover up how insecure, unimportant, scared, and helpless and unworthy I felt.

When I became pregnant at age 20, I decided to go in for counseling. I began to read self help books and made pacts to free myself on increasingly deeper levels to avoid passing on my fears, and neurosis to my gestating little baby. My mother taught me that my thoughts affected my experience of living and impacted my body physically, energetically and spiritually. I began to delve deeper into my own consciousness for answers. I began to study things that helped me including meditation, yoga, and ecstatic dance. I became curious about ancient religions, and spiritual paths. I soon learned that my emotional body was frozen and backed up (I hadn’t cried in years) so I began to find ways to safely and efficiently defrost myself.

Since then I have been on the lookout for ways to be more healthy, positive, and helpful to others, whom I perceived to be suffering as I had been. These struggles and the subsequent things I have learned to heal myself and to raise a healthy, happy, well-adjusted child have taught me about what is really needed to keep progressing steadily, even under adversity and terrifying challenges. Over the years I have been sharing what I have learned through these practices, having vowed during this process that if I survived, I would return to make the way easier for others. I have devoted my life to helping others find more easily, what it took me years to learn and unlearn.

I am now a professional full time alternative healer, leading workshops writing books and training other teachers of the healing arts. I am also the lead coordinator for the

Wisdom And freedom Peace Tour, a touring project that will be rolling down the road spring 2008 in alternatively fueled buses, to re-kindle community awareness of alternative healing, dance, music, environmental activism, and the healing power of love.

I found many useful practices to help my body and mind heal and relax even under very stressful circumstances. The most important thing I have discovered is the importance of love. It is the only thing that really matters deep down to everyone. It is the underlying motivation in all we do, in all we do not do, and ultimately the most powerful reason we have to live. We stick around for those we love, we protect those we love, we try to gain other’s love, we try to hold on to love and we seem to continuously be trying to prove we are worthy of love. We need to be loved; we love to be loved. This is what will end war, end our collective fears and create earth to be a living garden of utmost beauty and benefit to us all.

For my contribution to this book, I have chosen to give you a real sample of the deep healing which can be attained through EFT. EFT is one of the most exquisitely simple and effective healing tools of our times. EFT is gentle, safe and powerful and can be easily self-administered. This approach can effectively aid in clearing the body and mind of trauma, stress, fear, anxiety, relationship issues, sexual abuse, addictions, PTSD and just about any unpleasant experience you can imagine. I have seen EFT free up lives from the trauma of physical abuse and psychological battering, healing chronic phobias and old self-esteem issues. I have used EFT to help manifest prosperity. EFT can heal broken hearts and restore peace in relationships as well as help the body recover form illness or surgery. EFT is simply the healing power of love, acceptance and forgiveness applied to everything as it currently is.

When applying EFT, one starts by acknowledging the actual feelings and thoughts involved in the situation they are facing. This includes the actual emotions, memories and beliefs we have surrounding the situation. While acknowledging each piece of the stress, we percussively tap our fingers on certain points of the body, stimulating our body’s electrical system, known as the Meridians. The Meridians are the body’s energy super highways. They run throughout the body like tiny invisible wires passing electrical current through your house.

Meridians are the same lines of energy that the Chinese medicine and acupuncturists have used for over 2000 years. Tapping on them or massaging them lightly, begins a rapid and easy release of blocked energy removing the blown fuses or short circuits from the nervous system, alleviating stress and trauma from the central nervous system quickly and naturally.

As we tap on the meridians we use words to acknowledge the discomfort, fear and pain, as well as to reprogram our neural network with a more positive possibility. This combination of moving consciousness and physical stimulation at the same time can change one’s life very rapidly.

It can turn a very dire depressed feeling or a stressful situation into an experience of neutrality, peace and freedom to act differently. Releasing ones blocked energy can rapidly reset the body’s natural self-cleansing, self-balancing and self-healing systems, which restores the body’s chemistry and subsequent immune system responses.

You can even affect the imagined outcome you currently perceive about your situation, (including the world’s situation) as you literally take the negative self-fulfilling prophecy out of the equation, reworking it with compassion and acceptance for yourself and others. Doing this process can create a much more harmonious and sustainable outcome for your future. This works in accordance with what we know about the nature of reality as described by the theories of quantum physics, and the natural law of attraction.

EFT is simple enough to try at home even by beginners. It is also advanced enough to be being used in with great success in medical and psychiatric care practices around the world. You may feel some interesting feelings in your body as the old stress exits your nervous system. Then again, you may not feel much. Either way is okay. Your body processes in its own unique way. It is also possible you have become emotionally numb as a way of coping with the state of the world. Don’t worry, feeling numb or feeling like you are out of your body can be cleared with EFT too.

People off-gas old stress in different ways including deep sighs, yawning, tingling sensations, burping, tension migrating around the body, itching, moving, rolling the eyes, sudden bursts of emotion, flashes of deep insight, feeling slightly spacey or light bursts of laughter. Some are surprised to feel spontaneous emotional releases. Strong feelings will move through you within moments if you just keep on tapping and breathing. You can relax any fears about becoming emotionally overwhelmed because the emotional charges will dissipate very rapidly. The more you practice this technique the clearer you will feel, and the more powerful you will become.

Whatever happens for you as you try this technique yourself, including nothing, just be as honest with your own feelings as possible. You may desire to find some privacy to do this, or do it with the company of a good friend. Some people may feel silly at first, doing this kind of unaccustomed exercise, so you may want to start the process with simply acknowledging to yourself or your friend that you feel silly tapping on your face or hands, and talking out loud while reading a book! Either way, give yourself a genuine moment of total permission to let it all hang out! Emotions processed this way will move very quickly and much more painlessly than the old fashioned way of just talking about it, or just trying to cope with it in various ways. You may want to have some tissues on hand just in case, and a glass of water to drink during the session.

Cleaning up the emotional body is the first step to cleaning up the earth. Love, acceptance and forgiveness are very high vibrational frequencies that help human beings to evolve, become physically healthy and to make choices that nourish the world as one human family. Practicing love, acceptance and forgiveness is the best way of encouraging thrival to occur. Your thrival and your circle of influence’s thrival, enhances all of our thrival collectively. Remember that to forgive someone does not mean to condone or encourage the unwanted behavior, it simply means to let go of heavy emotions like anger, grief or fear that are so very energetically costly to us physically, emotionally and spiritually.

We practice releasing old resentments in EFT to get our life force back as every part of our being needs a certain amount of life force “credits” to function at optimal efficiency. Negative emotions can be acknowledged, empathized with and released respectfully and lovingly. To hold on indefinitely to old sorrow, or rage or regret is too heavy, and very toxic to the mind and body. It literally depletes and poisons our cells and tissues daily to stuff our feelings down. It shuts us off from our hearts and makes us afraid to connect with others.

An internal warehouse packed full of old painful memories, fears about the future, and self-defeating thoughts creates us to go into debt energetically. This causes us to break down easily and affects every aspect of our lives. Emotional withholding creates a bare, subsistent lifestyle in some or all of the major areas of our lives, whether it is financially, in our intimate relationships, physically or spiritually.

To heal an area of our lives we simply start with where we are actually at, and how we are feeling about it, without trying to change a thing. As we apply acceptance of the current situation we begin to get the empathy we have been looking for, which causes us to release toxic feelings that have been perpetuating toxic experiences. We apply love and compassion for everyone involved thus releasing harsh judgments towards others and ourselves. In this way we can clean things up as quickly as possible inside ourselves which automatically leads to creating things in a more loving way in our external environments.

You will most likely feel much more free and light after trying the EFT process mapped out below. You may want to write down any intuitive guidance that comes in or sudden insights. You may also want to go outside and be with nature for a few minutes before moving on with your day. Newly released energy gets purified and recycled right back into your system as energetic currency, which then gives you the ability to make better decisions and to see possibilities in a new light. This will eliminate stress so you can function more brilliantly, with more peace and grace during what is now occurring. EFT can significantly change your experience of living, your family’s experience and your level of physical safety, health and financial well-being.

The question this book poses is: “If the world is staring down the barrel of an environmental catastrophe, how do I live my life?”

Please take a few moments to collect your feelings before you begin and reflect on how you actually feel about this topic. Write your feelings and beliefs about the state of our world on a piece of paper. It is important to acknowledge all your negative feelings and beliefs, including things you tell yourself about how things should be right now.

You may decide to rate these statements on a scale of 1-10 (1 being minimal emotion and 10 being extremely intense feelings). It is gratifying to feel the negative charge drain out of the emotions and notice how the assigned numbers can reflect this in such a relatively short period of time. Don’t worry about getting interrupted while doing the session I have prepared for you. It can be done in pieces or in several shorter sessions. You can also expand upon it intuitively, or go back over sections, as you feel inspired. Just use this as a guide to get you started. You will be gently tapping these points on your own body. You may use the left or right hand side of the body, with either hand, flowing through the points from the collarbone point, down the body to the wrist and hand, then up to the crown of the head and down the face. This pattern of points is known as a round of EFT.

Don't worry about getting them in perfect order. EFT is a very flexible and forgiving process. Because you are wired with meridians, some major, others minor, all connected at the top of the head, EFT will work even if you skip a point, add in extra points or do them in a different order. This process helps old feelings and memories burn through cleaner and much faster than you may be used to so relax, and enjoy the experience of

this self-healing experiment.

  • Start out by massaging a tender spot under your collarbone and back towards your shoulder at the top of your pectoral muscle. This helps you get in alignment for the session. Give yourself some deep slow breaths.

  • Switch to the next meridian point on the chart after 5-7 gentle taps with your fingertips.

  • Use 2-3 fingers at each point to cover more space and stimulate the right spot.

  • Move to the next bit of the script below, only as you feel ready.

  • Make sure to BREATHE deeply, feeling free to make sounds during exhalations.

Tap on all the points indicated in the illustration, flowing from the collarbone points downward through the hand points and then up to the head. Repeat the words in the script below allowing yourself to really connect with the part of you that may feel these or other feelings.

Give yourself permission to go over this slowly, taking time to feel for just a moment a small sample of the stress or feeling that you have been carrying about these issues.

EFT Healing Session for Living Now

Collarbone points:

Even though I feel numb about facing a possible environmental catastrophe,

I love and accept myself!

Repeat phrase 3 times and BREATHE.

I forgive myself for checking out, or numbing myself to it in order to survive right now.

I forgive them for any way they contributed to my self-defeating thoughts about the world right now. I am restoring my own ability to take action and to feel empowered by forgiving them for being who they were back then.

I forgive myself for modeling old familial behavior patterns to others; perhaps even my own family and children.

I forgive my family and their family and their family's family for going along with things as they were, in order to survive. I am restoring my ability to feel courageous and strong.

I am deeply and completely forgiving

I am willing to let go of the deep grief and sorrow that I have been harboring, no matter how justified it is. I am retrieving my life-force credits so

I can do something more creative with my energy now.

This justified feeling. To let go of this anger does not mean that their actions are okay with me, it just means that I am upgrading my energy flow right now.

I am entitled to be enraged for as long as I need to be.

I am open to the possibility of releasing this anger and rage in order to get my life-force back.

It does not mean it is right, what they have done, if I release this anger.

It means I am feeling strong in my commitment to my own and other's well-being.

My well-being is within with me now. I am in control of my life energy now.

I am of greater service when I am centered and connected to my heart.

This is where my true power is.

Under nose:

I am open to possibly forgiving the people who are so short-sighted and greedy that they are driving the planet over the brink for political and financial gain.

Under lips:

Not because they deserve it,

or asked for my forgivingness,

but because I desire to be powerful and healthy in my body again!

I am forgiving the narrow-mindedness of these greedy and fearful people.

I am forgiving myself for any shortsightedness or greed I have had as well.

My heart is transmuting the chaotic energy of destruction with the purifying fire of love, for all of us who are learning about life and love this way.

I forgive my self for being afraid of loosing power.

I forgive them for being so afraid that they desire to have ultimate control of all people and resources.

I forgive their parents and all past generations for teaching them that there was not enough land, resources or love from the Divine for everyone on earth.

Side of hand:

I forgive all parents and all past generations for teaching us that there was not enough.

I forgive them for teaching us to fight to be ultra-competitive.

I forgive them for teaching us to prove we are powerful over others in order to be loved and respected by our families and our societies.

Crown of head:

I forgive my parents, their parents, and all past generations whose blood flows in my veins for not knowing a better way to live peacefully and sustainably, together.

Beginning of eyebrow:

I release, from shame and guilt, all families who have participated in this, including my own, for not giving the love, nurturing and balance that everyone really needed.

I am creating now that we all become loving and compassionate adult human beings.

I am starting with myself.

The changes I get to watch for a living by practicing the art of unconditional love, give me tremendous joy, deep peace and a real sense of helping to improve the situation on our planet. This is good for my body and my sense of thrival. I have personally seen EFT stop bleeding instantly, heal swelling as it was occurring, end nightmares, completely cure PTSD and turn around very bad situations. I see this thought technology as an invaluable first aid tool for the changing times. This way of thinking opens minds, hearts and the energy of Creation. It is from this place that we are then able to imagine and choose to create a more loving, healthy way of living for all people.

As we are evolving, we are creating our world based upon new choices spawned from love, compassion and forgiveness for the mess we all find our planet and our human family in. When you realize that the people who hurt you or your country, were hurt by others, who were hurt by others, who were hurt by others, who were hurt and abused by others, the desire to stay angry or punitive starts to melt and one sees it as generational, and not extremely personal.

We begin to choose that it might as well change with us, here and now.

To me learning to love and serve one another is the only answer to the crisis we are here to transform. This encompasses learning to love the earth, her animals, plants, and people. It means activating our soul's true purpose. We are at a turning point in society where we are all being ushered up to the level of the heart. We are finally at the point where we are learning to release our fear of each other and to commit to cleaning up the mess we have been creating together for generations. First we release the shame and fear that binds us to the past, then the need to blame any one in particular. We are learning to release the fear, and to process the grief of watching things and people die, including the grief of who we thought we were. Then we find ourselves actually discharging the insanity of it all from our bodies, minds and souls. We then begin to spontaneously and authentically open our hearts to ourselves and each other.

My desire is to wake up the wake up team, to empower people to take more action to change the situations they can change in their circles of influence. I ask myself revealing inspiring, penetrating and empowering questions to get upgrades in consciousness often.

For Example: How can I better manage my time and resources to invest them in ways that sustain life on earth for future generations? How can I make peace out of war? How can I accept more love into my life? How can I help my self and others to see how beautiful and precious we all truly are? What would happen if we all were intent in finding out how to better support each other and ourselves? Who would we be if our collective goal were to live our lives truly aligned with a full on YES to our own soul's most loving guidance? The human soul comes with a built in broadcast of eternal love for the whole of Creation that we are a part of. We experience this as adults as a sense of awe and reverence for the beauty of nature, or the beauty we see in little children. Watch how healthy children love to love. They are unabashed in appreciation for birds, sky, mud and people. What is good for our children is good for us. It was once said that to measure the evolution of a culture, look to see how it has treated its women, children and land. The happier and healthier these three categories, the more socially, culturally, spiritually evolved the culture.

I believe the answer to the question we are being asked is simple and it has always been the same.
